Description

The compact FS340 controller is suitable for controlling so-called "flying saws" or "flying shears." These are used to cut continuous materials to length when they cannot be stopped during the cutting process. The mechanical design includes a saw carriage that moves in the direction of the material, moves synchronously with the material during the cutting process and returns to its home position after the cut is completed.

The FS series devices are specially tailored to the requirements of flying saws, ensuring maximum cutting performance and accuracy while simultaneously protecting the mechanical components. A short position control cycle and intelligent calculation algorithms ensure maximum precision. The FS340 features four programmable limit values for controlling four transistor switching outputs, a serial RS232 interface, and a 14-bit analog output.

The cutting length is entered via the keypad on the FS340. The device is housed in a standard panel mount housing and designed for installation in control panel cutouts measuring 96 x 48 x 140 millimeters.
